4. I am informed by the Superintendent of the

Botanical and Forestry Department that while the Ordinance

has in no way interfered with the legitimate trade in

azales plants carried on by Chinese nursery gardeners, the

destruction of azaleas growing on Crown land has practically

ceased as a result of its introduction.
